About me

All my life, I’ve been fascinated by how the internet makes information accessible. Long before I started my Computer Science degree, I was already busy building websites and everything that comes with them. During the years I was able to earn some extra money this way alongside school, I learned a lot about things like client communication, and this period partly motivated me to pursue a degree in Computer Science.

// Oude Veldhuis IT Consultancy

In 2008, I started offering freelance services, initially focusing mainly on smaller web development projects. These assignments ranged from building websites to implementing specific functionalities. As my experience grew, my focus gradually shifted more toward consultancy, where I advise organizations on technical solutions and the optimization of their systems.

Despite this shift, I remain active as a developer and continue to work on various technical projects for different clients. This combination of consultancy and hands-on development allows me to respond flexibly to a wide range of client needs.

Bewegen Werkt – Software Developer

I am currently working as a Software Developer at Bewegen Werkt. In this role, I am responsible for the development and maintenance of software used by colleagues for registration and reporting. These applications support their daily work in the areas of vitality, participation, and smoking cessation programs. In addition, I am actively involved in drafting and implementing the ISO 27001 policy.

In addition, I supported the management of four data centers in Enschede, Hengelo, and Doetinchem. In this role, I maintained close contact with both clients and suppliers, which helped strengthen relationships and optimize collaborations.

ID4All.eu – IT Consultant

At ID4All, I was responsible for various aspects of the webshops and the underlying administrative system. In addition, I regularly helped out in the production of wristbands, stamps, and glass engravings. I not only enjoyed this hands-on work, but it also gave me valuable insight into the operational side of the business. I am convinced that you only truly discover where improvements are possible when you use a system yourself.

OVSoftware – IT Professional

In my role as an IT professional, I primarily focused on working with Atlassian products, particularly Jira. During this period, I gained in-depth knowledge of these software packages, which I later successfully applied in other environments.

During my Computer Science studies, I worked at OVSoftware for several years, where I also completed my internship. During this time, I was responsible for internal PHP applications, including project management software. This role gave me the opportunity to gain valuable experience with various development techniques and to collaborate within larger development teams.

// Areas of Expertise

In recent years, I have specialized in software development with a strong focus on Symfony and Laravel, with Laravel being the framework I use most in practice. My expertise mainly lies in automating back-office processes and administrative systems, as well as migrating legacy software to modern, web-based platforms.

In addition to my technical work, I advise organizations on IT services, supporting them in making strategic decisions around system optimization and digital transformation. This combination of technical expertise and advisory skills enables me not only to implement effective solutions, but also to guide organizations in their IT development.
